Short-term Rehabilitation
Short-term rehabilitation facilities provide therapy for individuals recovering from a surgery, illness, or accident. Rehabilitation often times involves physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Generally, those needing short-term, in-patient rehabilitation may remain involved in their program at a facility for as little as a couple of days to as many as several weeks. Rehab facilities, such as Wexner Heritage Village Rehabilitation Center, may offer special events or programs to entertain their patients during their stay.
Therapy programs are designed by the skilled-nursing staff, therapists, nurse practitioners, and/or physicians on staff at a rehabilitation facility in partnership with an individual’s personal physician or surgeon. Therapy sessions can vary between physical, occupational, and speech, depending on an individual’s needs—and therapy sessions can happen one or more times throughout a given day while staying at an in-patient facility. Patients at Wexner Heritage Village Rehabilitation Center receive a customized therapy program, helping patients get back home safely... and sooner.
