Wexner Heritage Village Breaks Ground for Creekside
at the Village
October 24, 2003
A groundbreaking ceremony took place recently for Wexner
Heritage Village’s (WHV) latest venture Creekside at the Village.
The 82-unit independent apartment building will be built next door
to Wexner Heritage House, 1151 College Ave., boasting its own entrance
and parking. Other amenities include two restaurant-style meals daily,
24-hour security with call buttons in each apartment, housekeeping,
valets, well-appointed common areas and tenant assistance services.
Richard S. Lamden, WHV president/CEO, said, “Members of the community
have, for many years, expressed interest in a high quality senior housing
development that accommodates aging in place. Creekside will respond
to that need.”
Almost 50 percent of the building is already pre-leased with those
depositing early being named to the Creekside Charter Club.
The first official Charter Club member Eloise Saslaw, had the honor
of giving remarks and officially breaking the ground for construction
along with Lamden and Dr. Kurt Malkoff, chair of the Wexner Heritage
Village Board of Directors. Mike Canter, chair of the Columbus Jewish
Federation campaign was on hand to share remarks as well. Saslaw commented
that she looked forward to moving in and “never having to cook
another meal!”
