Ohio Department of Aging (ODA)

  • The Community Long-Term Care Division (CLTCD)
  • The Elder Rights Division (ERD)
  • The Executive Division
  • The Fiscal Division
  • The Human Resources Division (HRD)
  • The Information Services Division (ISD)

Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA)

The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) plans, coordinates and advocates for the development and delivery of services for older adults, families and the community.  Through leadership, funding and education, the COAAA supports individual choice, independence and dignity.  The COAAA is funded through federal, state and local grants.  It is one of 12 Area Agencies on Aging in Ohio and is part of the national aging network.  As part of its mission, the COAAA brings important issues to the attention of elected officials and policy makers.  COAAA serves eight central Ohio counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Fayette, Licking, Madison, Pickaway and Union.  The COAAA provides services for older adults to continue independent living in their own homes.  Home-based services include the PASSPORT and Senior Options programs.

For more information, log on to www.coaaa.org or call toll-free 800-589-7277.

Franklin County Office on Aging

The Franklin County Office on Aging is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating services and programs that assist older citizens in the maintenance of independent living.

The Office on Aging administers the Senior Options and Adult Protective Services programs.  Senior Options is funded by the Senior Services Levy and provides “one-stop shopping” for callers needing information, advocacy or direct access to a wide range of community-based services.  Adult Protective Services is funded by the Department of Job and Family Services and assists impaired adults who may be harmed due to abuse, neglect or exploitation.

By dialing (614) 462-6200 residents of Franklin County (Ohio) can access a system of services and information about community and home-based care for frail seniors.  Senior Options maintains contracts with companies and agencies that provide personal care, home delivered meals, adult day care, medical transportation and other services that allow our county’s older citizens to live independently in their own homes.

For more information, log on to www.officeonaging.org.  Or, call Senior Options: (614) 462-6200; Adult Protective Services: (614) 462-4348; Administration: (614) 462-5230.

American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA)

The members of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) help millions of individuals and their families every day through mission-driven, not-for-profit organizations dedicated to providing the services that people need, when they need them, in the place they call home. Our 5,700 member organizations, many of which have served their communities for generations, offer the continuum of aging services: adult day services, home health, community services, senior housing, assisted living residences, continuing care retirement communities and nursing homes. AAHSA’s commitment is to create the future of aging services through quality people can trust.

For information, log on to www.aahsa.org or call 202-783-2242.

Association of Jewish Aging Services of North America (AJAS)

A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, AJAS is a unique forum that promotes and supports elder services in the context of Jewish values through education, professional development, advocacy and community relationships.

AJAS represents the best interests of the Jewish aged in communities where membership organizations are located. The members of AJAS administer to the needs of the aging through residential health care; assisted living and group homes; independent and congregate housing; and living-at-home service programs.

AJAS functions to promote the unique role and mission of Jewish-sponsored not-for-profit organizations serving the aging by arranging educational meetings for the mutual exchange of information and ideas for members and all organizations for the aging; by working jointly with and supporting other organizations which serve the aging; by working with members to improve the operation and status of each members organization; and by concerning itself with the welfare of and advocacy for all elderly.
