Our Mission, Vision and Values
In life-affirming Jewish culture, Wexner Heritage Village enriches those it serves by providing quality housing, health, and supportive services which meet the needs of an aging society.
We Believe . . .
- The individuals we serve are the focus of all we do
- Jewish customs are to be honored and actively acknowledged
- In caring for the caregiver
- In demonstrating pride and ownership in what we are and who we serve
- In achieving balance between compassion, quality and innovation
Our Vision
Wexner Heritage Village offers individualized, holistic services to meet the needs of a diverse population of aging adults. We strive to provide a safe, homelike setting for our residents while offering high-quality, innovative programming in all areas of service provision.
Our vision is to serve as a community sounding board and as experts in the areas of aging health services, housing, community services and rehabilitation. We will achieve this through visionary leadership, education and investment in emerging technology.
We will impact those we serve by achieving the highest standards of care, and by investing in the development of our associates through cultural, professional, and personal development opportunities. We understand that as the lives of our associates are enriched, so will be the lives of the individuals we serve.
We will honor and enhance opportunities for spiritual growth for people of all faiths by interweaving spiritual services, guided by our Jewish roots, into the fabric of all that we do.
We will remain dedicated to continuous improvement and support for our current programming while constantly looking toward the future through the development of mission-consistent new programs and services as needs require and resources allow.
History
Wexner Heritage House opened its doors as The
Jewish Home for the Aged in 1951 with
three residents.
So great
was the need for a protective home for older
adults, that by the first year's
end, the home was filled to its capacity
of twelve residents. From
these early beginnings,
the Columbus Jewish community and its outstanding
leaders helped create a superb system of
services and residences
known today as Wexner Heritage Village.
Location
Nestled between two residential communities, Berwick
and Bexley, the Wexner Heritage Village campus encompasses
more than 8 acres, boasting a multi-faceted housing system
coupled with extensive,
health, housing,
social and spiritual programs.
