Campaign Gives Community Members Chance to Make Mark at WHV

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A generous gift from Larry and Leonore Zusman has made it possible for Wexner Heritage Village to renovate 5000 sq. ft. into dedicated space for hospice care to be called Zusman House. In order to add additional support, a campaign is being held to allow community members to lend their names and messages to the space as well. The campaign entitled, “Laying the Foundation of Hope… Honoring the Beauty of Life,” offers to donors the chance to dedicate a brick to be laid in the landscaped patio or a piece of art glass for a stained glass art piece that will grace the meditation space at Zusman House.

“We haven’t offered a specific opportunity for community members to create lasting memorials at Wexner Heritage Village in quite sometime. Through this campaign, families can donate to a program that has an amazing impact on the lives of terminally ill individuals, while making a mark of support that will be seen for generations to come,” said Jake Rosenzweig, development coordinator.

An individual, family or group can dedicate an eight-inch by eight-inch brick for a donation of $1800 or a four-inch by eight-inch brick for $1000. They will be placed in a well-landscaped patio that is accessible from each individual patient room of Zusman House.

For a $500 gift, donors will be able to have their names or memorials etched into pieces of stained glass. The art piece, designed by Franklin Art Glass, will decorate a dedicated prayer and meditation space within the facility.

In addition to these spaces, Zusman House will offer five patient rooms for those in need of respite from the tasks of home care or for advanced end-of-life care. Families will enjoy the use of a common kitchen and living room area with modern amenities. Private offices will afford space for staff members and volunteers to attend to business.
