Wexner Heritage Village Awards Associates, Recognizes Community Supporters

COLUMBUS, Ohio – At the Annual Meeting of Wexner Heritage Village on September 14, the organization celebrated a year of successful expansion including the openings of Creekside at the Village, Zusman House and Village Shalom Apartments. Paul Guth was elected as a new board member for the organization and leadership was approved for the 2006-2007 board year including James A. Bowman as chair.
Rabbi Cary Kozberg, who recently returned to the organization as director of spiritual life, gave the keynote address, speaking about the unique ability of Wexner Heritage Village to combine market and mission without sacrificing quality of care.
At the meeting, Wexner Heritage Village honored community partners for their contributions to enhancing the lives of the older adults served by the organization. For his longtime support, B. Lee Skilken, president of Skilken Properties, received the Eleanor & Jack Resler Life With Dignity Award, an award his father also received twenty-five years earlier. The Chair’s Award recognized the efforts of JMM Architects, the construction firm specializing in building residences for older adults that designed Creekside at the Village and Zusman House. Mike Milligan, president of JMM Architects, accepted the honor.
Associates who received the peer-nominated awards serve residents in Wexner Heritage House, a skilled nursing facility, Zusman Community Hospice, and Shalom House, group homes for those with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. The Evelyn Moss Compassion Award was presented to Sabrina Logwood. Recipients of the Abe A. Wolman Performance Awards were Sabrina Graves, Dorinda Miller, Pam Huey and Georgiana Weeks. Simson Associate of the Year nominees were Florence Booker, Helen Pollock and Michelle Stayner, with Florence Booker winning the honor.
